Journey of a Tweet

I am a avid genealogist. I have been researching for over 10 years and have watched genealogy evolve from viewing microfilm and visiting repositories to the unlimited resources on the Internet. I have been cautious of using Facebook and Twitter as a genealogy resource. I am now a Facebook and Twitter user and I am exploring the benefits of both social networks.

I am somewhat of a Computer Geek and of course subscribe to PC World. My copy of PC World – February 2010 arrived in the mail this week. On page 108 there is a article titled “Journey of a Tweet”. I thought the image in PC World was cool and informative. This definitely has benefits for the genealogist. You can see what I am referring to by as accessing the story on

Twitter – Birds and a Whale?

Hmm, I am new to Twitter. Genealogy is my passion and I am excited to use the new group I located called “Genealogy Brick Walls Group”. It is Friday morning and I get the following message when attempting to login into Twitter. “Twitter is over capacity.Too many tweets! Please wait a moment and try again”. I also see a graphic on my screen with some birds trying to fly away with a whale. Yikes, I hope they make it to their destination. It appears I should try & use Twitter at another time. Any particular day of the week? Best time of the day? Any ideas?
